Did Diet Culture Ruin Your Relationship with Movement?

Hi friend,

Let's face it-- diet culture sucks. And if you're anything like us over here, we know it has stolen a LOT from you.

Time. ⏰

Energy. ⚡️

Self-esteem and worthiness. 🥰

Your mental health. 🧠

Money 💵

And...your enjoyment of movement.

When you think about what movement (or as society-at-large calls it, exercise) has looked like for you, do any of these sound familiar?

⚡️Going to the gym, using the elliptical or treadmill for no fewer than 45 minutes, and hating every minute of it?

⚡️Feeling guilty if you miss a day of moving your body

⚡️Unable to "motivate" yourself to start an exercise routine

⚡️Or, starting a routine and then "falling off the wagon" when you miss a day or screw up your diet

⚡️Using exercise as a way to cope with any distressing emotion

⚡️Believing you HAVE to work out in order to be healthy

⚡️A former school athlete and is struggling to find identity outside of sports

⚡️Discomfort with movement in a changed here-and-now body (aka not as mobile, flexible, etc)

If you resonate with any of these, please know this is NOT. YOUR. FAULT. Your beliefs around how you should move your body were given to you on a silver platter from diet culture (aka patriarchy/capitalism). Separating movement from diet culture is often one of the most difficult pieces of healing your relationship with your body.

We know. We've all been there. We feel you.

We are excitedly enrolling folks into our new series that kicks off on May 1st: "Rediscover your Relationship with Movement from a Disordered Eating lens" led by Cara and Britt. We are offering tiered pricing so you can find the level that works best for you.
